The Prairieland Animal Welfare Center Has Expanded The Recycling It Does For The Homeless Animals At The Shelter Through Their Cash For Critters Program
The Shelter would like to ask individuals, schools, civic organizations, and businesses to recycle for them. Aluminum cans can be dropped off at the Animal Shelter at 1855 Windish Drive, Galesburg. Aluminum cans can can be placed in a receptacle behind the Shelter.
The Shelter's recycling efforts benefit the community in two ways. They not only help the community keep recyclable items out of landfills, but also provide the community with a no cost way of supporting the organization.
The Prairieland Animal Welfare Center is a not-for-profit Shelter operated by the Knox County Humane Society. The Shelter served over 2500 homeless animals last year. Most were homeless animals their owners couldn't care for any longer with dogs and cats being the majority of the animals served.
