The Prairieland Animal Welfare Dog Park
Bucky's Dog Park is a landscaped free-run exercise area for community dogs and their owners to enjoy. It is a secure, enclosed area where dogs can be unleashed and run freely. For the safety of dog owners, an annual permit is required for those wishing to use the dog park. The fee is $24.00 per dog per year, or passes can be purchased for $5.00 per day or $10.00 per week.
Bucky's Dog Park is in memory of Dave Buckmaster. Dave's widow, Erin, wanted to do something meaningful in memory of her husband. Erin had been a long-time member of the Knox County Humane Society's Board of Directors, and she and Dave had both enjoyed the love and affection of Scooby and Bucky, two of their dogs for many years. The dog park gives the Prairieland Animal Welfare Center shelter dogs a wonderful place to run and exercise, and allows other pet owners a safe and secure place for their animals to run, too.
