County Humane Society at 1855 Windish Drive, Galesburg. The
Shelter is the only state-licensed Animal Shelter in Knox County
and operates as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to

Foster Care
If you cannot adopt a dog or cat of your own, please
consider becoming a foster home to take care of an animal.
We need foster homes for animals who are recovering from
surgery or illness, older animals who may be harder to place,
or animals who have been at the Shelter for some time.
If you are interested in becoming a foster home for Shelter
animal(s), call us at 309-342-1275 and we will get the
information to you about this important program. Providing
a foster home for Shelter animals can be very rewarding and
is very important to our animals!
